We, the people of this organization, for the purposes below shall be known as the Big Red Anime Coalition in official capacity;
|
|
The Big Red Anime Coalition shall be for all those who enjoy anime, and anime related activities, for the discussion, viewing, and pooling of members' anime resources to help the appreciation of anime and Japanese culture;
|
|
This organization shall abide by the constitution and bylaws of the Denison
Campus Governance Association and the regulations and policies of Denison University.
If it is suspected that this organization has violated its own constitution or the
constitution and bylaws of DCGA, it will be subject to an audit and investigation by the DCGA
Rules Committee.
- Pending the results of such an investigation, the DCGA Rules Committee will
make a recommendation to the Finance Committee and the Senate as a whole concerning future
financial and approval procedures.Pending the results of such an investigation, the DCGA Rules

The Big Red Anime Coalition official anime nights shall be open to any student, faculty, or guest (including citizens of the Village of Granville) of Denison University who shows up to watch anime, and are given full rights as guest members such as :

The right to watch anime at any given Big Red Anime Coalition anime night providing that such individual does not violate the Big Red Anime Coalition laws, Denison regulation, local, state, or federal laws;

The right to full Big Red Anime Coalition membership if said membership conditions are met;
Food and Drink will be provided to club members at each Anime Night. Funds for club refreshments will originate from Club dues collected from members;
Full membership to the Big Red Anime Coalition is open to all Denison University students or faculty including all rights in lower forms of membership as well as full membership rights if the following conditions are met :

Full members may contribute to the "Library of Anime", anime in their private collection if they have any anime. The "Library of Anime" will not physically be bookshelved but will be a voluntary catalogue of every members media collection. Full members must sign a contract abiding by the rules of the constitution of the Big Red Anime Coalition;

Abiding by the full Membership rights :

Access to the Library of Anime ( see appropriate section );

Access to Big Red Anime Coalition anime-related activities;

The right to one vote when deciding anime and anime-related activities;

Guest members not directly affiliated with the Denison University, being student or faculty, are not eligible for executive positions and full membership;

The Big Red Anime Coalition shall consist of the following officers:

Co-Presidency (2 co-president);
-
Treasurer;
-
Anime-related group leaders;
Officers of the Big Red Anime Coalition shall be chosen each year using the following protocol for each office:
-
Elections for the President 1 and President 2 on the nomination of two outstanding members of the Big Red Anime Coalition, and each will be voted in their own right;
-
Furthermore, by the definition of outstanding, these members will be judged by past Presidents as fit to be elected;
The election and appointment for offices in the club shall be held during the first official meeting of the club in the current academic semester;
- Quorum for a general election will be the standard number as defined in the meeting section;
- Those nominated for election will leave the meeting until the election is over;
- Each full member, as defined in Article III, will have one vote for one nominee;
- The two nominees with the greatest tally of votes shall be elected to that office;
Officers shall take office immediately after being elected and will hold their office for a period of one academic year, and may be elected as long as they remain Denison University students in good standing;
Officers shall not be on disciplinary probation at the time of their elections and throughout their term in office;
If either offices of President is vacant, then a meeting shall be held immediately and a new member will be elected, by an official election, to fill the Presidency for the remainder of the original officeholder's term;
If it is found that any holder of office has been accused of violating the terms set forth in this Constitution, the Big Red Anime Coalition Constitution, the laws of Granville, Ohio, the laws of Ohio, the Ohio Constitution, the laws of the United States of America and/or the Constitution of the United States of America in official capacity in office, then an immediate meeting will be held with a majority of the full members present. The accused shall then set forth an explanation of the activities , or charges which they have been accused of. The full members will vote whether or not to impeach then, or to wait for an outcome of said accusation in the court provided to deal with the alleged broken term. In the event that the accused is found guilty or voted against based on the defense given, the officer in question will be asked to hand in his/her resignation, and all members will give the officer a thumbs down to signify the end of his/her term. A new officer will be appointed as to the protocol written above;
The duties of the officers of the Big Red Anime Coalition shall consist of the following:

Each Co-President will have the duty of conducting all official business between the Big Red Anime Coalition and the Administration, School Activity Committee, and any other functions that requires an officer to act in official capacity as part of the Big Red Anime Coalition with the approval of the other co-president;

A Co-President will sign all documents legislated by a quorum of members including new anime-related activities, anime library changes, constitution changes, the anime night anime list, and will preside over all the main meetings;

The Treasurer will be responsible for keeping accurate Big Red Anime Coalition records including current funds status, minutes of each official meeting, and all official transactions;

Anime-related leaders will be in charge of organizing anime-related activities that are sponsored in official capacity by the Big Red Anime Coalition, and will be appointed by the Co-Presidents;

Anime-related leaders will be held responsible for running their activities by the Big Red Anime Coalition law;

There shall be an official anime night once a week, in which any member may come to watch anime, discuss anime, eat food, and have general caucus amongst each other during intermissions;
The Big Red Anime Coalition meetings shall be held once a month, and either Co-President may call a meeting of the Big Red Anime Coalition more often if deemed necessary by the Co-Presidency after discussion within the Co-Presidency;
The Big Red Anime Coalition meetings shall be official if are met with a quorum of one-third of the members of the Big Red Anime Coalition;

The officers of the organization shall have the authority to create any standing or special activities related to anime that will further the purpose of the Big Red Anime Coalition as defined in Article II;
Anime-related activities shall be related to anime including but not limited to committees on modeling, cartooning, art appreciation, subtitling, and other committees members can think of;
The Big Red Anime Coalition shall have a minimum of one advisor who shall be a Denison University faculty member or professional staff member;

If the organization dissolves, any accumulated funds will be returned to the DCGA;
The budget shall be determined by the officer of the organization,
subject to
the approval of the DCGA Finance Committee or similar body;
The budget shall consist of:
- Club anime purchases,
- Refreshments (if possible),
- Club Events,
- and any anime-related purchases for club use;
Dues shall be determined by the officers of the organization, subject to the
approval
of a quorum of the Big Red Anime Coalition full membership. Refreshment dues will be determined at such time that refreshments are procured, by those procuring said refreshment;
If the organization dissolves, former participants can request that any accumulated member dues be set aside until such time as there is an organization funded with similar goals, that they may partake in that which we raised for a common end. If this is vetoed, then accumulated dues shall be given to the Student Activities Committee with the proviso that :
- The accumulated Member dues be given in scholarship to a financial aid modern languages student;
- One last anime night be held for a twenty-four hour period for the former
members;

The Library of Anime shall consist of a catalogue of voluntary full member's collection of anime videos, dvds, CDs, and other media, as well as those media purchased by the Big Red Anime Coalition;
Any full member can ask to borrow another full member's or the Big Red Anime Coalition's anime for private viewing with the following conditions :
- That the user return the said media after a predetermined length of time;
- That the owner is able to claim ownership of said media through the Library of Anime;
- That both user and owner enter into an agreement, in which the user must pay for the said media if it is not returned or is lost;
That person borrowing media from the Big Red Anime Coalition's direct contribution to the Library of Anime(i.e. anime purchased in the name of the Big Red Anime Coalition), who does not return said anime, will be first dealt with a $5 late fee, or double compensation if the said media is lost;
All media in the Library of Anime must be of legal ownership;

All amendments to this constitution require the following to happen :
- A petition to be signed by no less then 15% of full members, or on recommendation by a president;
- At least one week warning before an extra meeting be held for the discussion, debate, and vote on the amendment;
All amendments require a 66% vote or a quorum to be added to the constitution;
The revised constitution will be submitted to the co-presidents for signature, whereupon the co-presidents can veto the amendment one time only requiring a 75% vote;
The final draft amended constitution will be submitted to the Senate for approval;
